Welcome!

Hi, I’m Anna. I am a woman daily bowing my heart to Jesus and sharing the treasures I learn along the way. My heart is that through the words, prayers, and stories shared here, you would be encouraged, and you would find the exact words you need for such a time as this. I believe that God wants us to know Him deeply, and as we walk with Him, we will find that He is exactly what we’ve been looking for.

So, why the name “The Threshing Floor?” The threshing floor, in the Bible, was a stone floor where wheat would be laid and oxen would be brought in to stomp on the wheat. The purpose of the stomping was to separate the wheat (the good stuff) from the chaff (the inedible parts). This blog was birthed out of a time in my life when I felt that all the life had been stomped out of me. In the story of Ruth, the threshing floor is also significant. Ruth went through some hard times which led her to the threshing floor at the feet of Boaz, desperate and seeking restoration of the things she lost in her life. The threshing floor is a powerful symbol of restoration and redemption. Boaz, was Ruth’s redeemer, just as Jesus is our redeemer. When our lives are a mess, and we need to be rescued, we too can come to the feet of Jesus. Boaz restored Ruth’s safety, protection, and love which she lost when she lost her husband. Jesus can take every hard thing we have faced and redeem it all for good. In Joel 2:24-25 it says, “The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten...” This is a promise we can cling to in hard times, knowing that God will restore to us that which has been taken away. Though there may be things we’ve lost during our trials and seasons of struggle, God promises to bring restoration and redemption to our lives. He has done it in my life time and time again, and He will do it in yours. I pray this brings you encouragement in any difficult thing you are facing and helps you trust the One who has you in the palm of His loving hands.
